Thanks for joining me here with my first ever studiovlog! I really enjoy watching these vlogs from other creators and I wanted to share a glimpse into my studio and workspace. I’m sharing a few details below, as I decided NOT to record a voice over for this video. ———————————————————————————————————— 🌿 FLOWER FRAME | I used canvas stretcher bars from Hobby Lobby - (2) 40” wide pieces and (2) 48” wide pieces. I chose to use this INSTEAD of building my own frame as I wanted to better ensure the stability of the piece as it will go above my computer desk. I used one roll of 2x10’ chicken wire, and staple gunned the wire to the frame. 🌿 PAPER ROSES | This is the same set of paper roses I used in my Christmas garland on my stairs, and various other projects I’ve posted about lately. It is a smaller version of my regular rose template. I use a shimmer cardstock called White Gold by Recollections at Michael’s Arts and Crafts. Currently, in this video, there are roughly 250-300 mini roses. 🌿 GREENERY | I used quite a bit of fake greenery from Joann’s. In particular, these greenery bunches are by the brand “Bright Ideas” and it features two types of eucalyptus and baby’s breath. 🌿 IS IT EXPENSIVE TO MAKE? | Yes and no. I repurposed the 125+ mini roses from my Christmas garland project, and will probably repurpose them again in the future should I decide to go elsewhere with decor above my desk. The shimmer paper I used, specifically, is typically $.79USD per 12”x12” sheet. It takes 2 sheets of 12”x12” to make 3 roses. There are more affordable shimmer paper options available, and using regular matte cardstock would be significantly more affordable. I spent about $20 on the frame, and $10 for the chicken wire. The greenery is the bulk of the expenses. A bunch of the greenery, at regular price, is $7.99. I have utilized multiple sales at Joann’s to get the price down to $1.80 - $2.39 per bunch. However, I’ve preferred to densely pack the paper roses and greenery in this project to get the look that it currently has so it may take less to fill the same amount of space. 🌿 HOW ARE YOU SECURING THE FLOWERS AND GREENERY? | I am using 3” zip ties that I purchased from Amazon, about 1000 pieces for $8.99. I am using floral tape to bind the roses with the greenery before securing it to the wire. 🌿 HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A ROSE? | Not that long in the overall sense, but I do things in bulk. I cut all pieces at once, and I make the flowers in sequences and batches (e.g, separate/count out the pieces per rose for about 10 roses at once, curl all the petals, then assemble in bulk). ———————————————————————————————————— I do sell my templates via email at pearlpaperflowers@gmail.com - please contact for pricing/purchase!
